Today’s Ratings and Market Movers 02/06/19

Brilliant day! We won the cup, and I do not care a jot that it was an awful game to watch, either. In the record books it’ll not say it resembled a Charity Shield game, or a pre-season friendly…..it’ll just give the scoreline and have Liverpool’s name up in lights as being Champions.

The racing had been good to us all, too.

Shall we start with the screenshot and work from there? I only have two rated races today, small fields so, let’s have a chunk of waffle and a look back at how the Rated races performed plus, a gander at how utilising these Market Movers, in Rated races particularly, is helping us pile on the pounds….or rather, the £’s.

We are not yet a month into the new flat season yet, we lost a week to the weather, I was away last weekend and produced no work on two days but a profit of £1125.36 has been achieved by the guys and gals at Astech Gold.

Trust me, we have not even started yet. Our core season is about to commence and I’d hope to simply replicate the results of previous years over the next quarter, to produce a profit to pay for any holidays Karen has planned, Christmas, and a good bit more!

Plus, I want everyone reading this involved in The Clover Club. You really have no idea what I’ll be able to do for you once you have all gotten your pin badges but trust me, it’ll be spectacular and I’ll tell you again, nobody out there will ever do the likes of it. It’s unique.

I will get the layers to pay for it….as you can see above….AG has produced a profit already that would have paid for a Clover Club membership and put £125 in their pockets, too.

YESTERDAY’S RATINGS

Below you have the full ratings for yesterday. What I have done is highlighted in blue the horses that were Morning Market Movers, with overnight Market Movers in orange. They turned what would have been losing races, into winning races.

EPSOM 5-15 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – NONE

MAZZURI….+9 – 7TH 33/1
* – GENETICS….+5
* – EDDYSTONE ROCK….+3 – 3RD 14/1
T – FIRE FIGHTING….+2 – 6TH 12/1
* – SOTO SIZZLER….-7 – WON 9/2
* – BYRON FLYER….-11 – 2ND 25/1
* – SEXTANT….-14
T* – GRANDEE….-15
T – AQUARIUM….-22
* – BREATH CAUGHT….-23
* – KYLLACHY GALA….-38

NOTES:

REVIEW: Overnight Market Mover SOTO SIZZLER was cantering all over this lot from half a mile out and won as he liked. The figures themselves were spot on, with four of the top six in the first six home and, my top rated just a neck outside the top six at a huge price.

EPSOM 5-50 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – L-H/M

SPANISH CITY (BF)….+12 – 5TH
T* – LAKE VOLTA….+9 – 2ND
§* – SQUATS….+8 – 3RD
T* – GABRIAL THE DEVIL….+8 – NR
T§* – BEYOND EQUAL….+8
T§* – REPUTATION….+8 – 4TH
* – HELVETIAN….+8 – 6TH
T§* – WATCHABLE….+8 – WON 8/1
STONE OF DESTINY….-1
* – TAWNY PORT….-4 – NR
T* – AREEN HEART….-17
ASHPAN SAM….-23
H§ – HARROGATE….-24
T – MANSHOOD….-28
MOUNTAIN PEAK….-32

NOTES:

REVIEW: SPANISH CITY was the overnight Market Mover here being the type of horse he is, needed luck in running….you very rarely get hat at Epsom…and he was hampered in his run….he would not have beaten WATCHABLE though, who has found a new lease of life at the age of nine. He has now won as many races in the last three months, as he had won in his 70 race e career previously.

My figures suggested this would be tight between eight of them….one was pulled out and the first six home were in the top seven that took part. I was chuffed to bits, despite it being a losing race.

MUSSELBURGH 2-15 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – NONE

T – BE KOOL….-4 – 2ND 8/1
T – FURZIG….-5
ROSE TINTED SPIRIT….-22
T – MONT KINABALU….-31
T* – MULLIGATAWNY….-40 – WON 4/1
FIRST FLIGHT….-40
T – SWIFT EMPEROR….-40

NOTES:

REVIEW: The only horse in here with previous winning form on the ground, duly obliged. It is not rocket science is it.

MUSSELBURGH 4-55 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – NONE

T* – HAWAAM….+9 – 3RD 9/2
* – REQUINTO DAWN….+5
T – FAIRY FALCON….-14
LANDING NIGHT….-26
T – MAKANAH (BF)….-40 – WON 13/8F
PRIMO’S COMET….-40 – 2ND 5/1
T – ROBOT BOY….-40
T – SECRETINTHEPARK….-40 – NR

NOTES:

REVIEW: A bottom rated favourite brought into the dutch to produce the profit. I’m not going to say that we’ll ever find a way to produce the winner of every handicap but the introduction of both bottom rated favourites and Market Movers has most definitely given us additional sources of profit.

HEXHAM 3-15 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – N/A

APACHE PILOT….+8
CLASSICAL MILANO….±0 – WON 7/1
MORNING ROYALTY….-3
SOLID STRIKE….-9
* – DUN FAW GOOD….-22
KINGS ECLIPSE….-40

NOTES:

REVIEW: Nicely sited in my top three, this 7/1 winner led from start to finish. The MM failed….they cannot all perform….but the safety net they provide really is helping.

HEXHAM 3-50 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – N/A

T – DOLLYS DESTINATION….+14 – 2ND 4/1
JACK LAMB….-12 – 3RD 9/2
* – TICKENWOLF….-13 – WON 7/4F
NATIVE FIGHTER….-18
T – KHUDHA….-18
REAL ARMANI….-21
T – OSCAR NOMINATION….-35
DR HOOVES….-39
CHAMPAGNE TO GO….-40
MONDLICHT….-40
W2T – VICTORIA SAYS….-40

NOTES:

REVIEW: One of the aspects of Market Movers that I’m specifically looking at are those that sit in my top three rated horses. TICKENWOLF had opened 11/2, was punted into 7/2 during the morning, and smashed off the boards on course, going off a very short price in comparison to his opening show.

Job done, as the figures were absolutely spot on, too.

WORCESTER 1-45 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – N/A

* – RONAVA….+10 – 3RD 9/4
* – LORD BALLIM….+8 – PU
* – BESTWORK….-1
* – SHOAL BAY (BF)….-9
* – LITTLE WINDMILL….-10 – 2ND 14/1
* – FINGERONTHESWITCH….-11 – WON 8/1
* – SPORTING BOY….-18
* – THOMAS BLOSSOM….-39
T – ALTO ESQUA….-40

NOTES:

REVIEW: This Market Mover failed miserably. I’ve been discussing with Andy how I might work with this type, that opens up 20/1, is punted into 10/1 but then when they see it on course, it drifts like the Kon Tiki, this one going off bigger than his morning price @ 25/1.

My figures for this race were pants anyway so it’s all academic….the horse was in my own dutch as a matter of course being top three rated….so a losing race….(they happen!)

WORCESTER 4-05 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – N/A

* – SETTIMO MILANESE….+12 – 2ND 7/4F
* – ROLLING MAUL….+10
* – THEATREBAR….+10 – WON 7/2
* – KINGS RYDE….+9
SOLIGHOSTER….-24
W2 – FAIRMOUNT….-37
MERE ANARCHY….-40
GROUNDUNDERREPAIR….-40

NOTES:

REVIEW: A winning race by virtue of my figures being correct….lovely. SOLIGHOSTER was punted during the morning but unfortunately went lame and was pulled up….doubtless they’ll be looking to get their money back when he’s recovered.

WORCESTER 5-00 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – N/A

* – PROPHETS PRAYER….+10 – 3RD 12/1
* – GET AN OSCAR….+9 – 2ND 5/1
COILLTE EILE….+8
* – OUTRAGEOUS ROMANA….-1
* – OUR ROCKSTAR….-6
* – GLANVILLES GUEST….-14 – WON 7/1
T – LEGEND LADY….-19
WASDELL….-40
PETRONELLA MANNERS….-40

NOTES:

REVIEW: The introduction of this Morning Market Mover into my own dutch created more profit for me. My figures were again absolutely spot on, my top pair filling the places behind this gamble. This horse had been 14/1 when the markets woke up, was quickly punted in to 8/1. It opened 6/1 on course and was given a “proper” ride by Harry Cobden to land that gamble.

STRATFORD 6-30 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – N/A

T* – LORD BRYAN….+13
* – BLAIRS COVE….+11 – 2ND
* – KING CNUT….+11 – NR
* – WESTERN MILLER….+10 – WON 15/2
* – CUT THE CORNER….+10 – 4TH 8/1
* – WOLFCATCHER….-13
* – MURRAY MOUNT….-24

NOTES:

REVIEW: I had a good feeling about Stratford and whilst I got lucky here with “natural progression” securing my profit. I’ll take it any way it comes.

The overnight Market Mover had been 20/1 > 10/1 overnight, eventually going off @ 8/1 but the money on course was for the winner…you could have had 11/1 at one point.

STRATFORD 7-00 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – N/A

* – ESPOIR DE TEILLEE….+9
* – CONSTANCIO….+8 – WON 9/2
* – CUBSWIN….-5 – 3RD 4/1
* – CULTIVATOR….-7 – 2ND 10/1
* – RED HOT CHILLY….-12
* – MISTER FIZZ….-31

NOTES:

REVIEW: I look at a race like this and “expect” the winner to come from my top two rated but I took little pleasure from this as RED HOT CHILLY was most likely coming to win when he fell and was fatally injured.

STRATFORD 7-30 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – N/A

* – MCGROARTY….+13
T* – WELLS DE LUNE….+12
* – DANDRIDGE….+9
* – VALSEUR DU GRANVAL….+9
* – CHAMPAGNE AT TARA….-11
T* – DOUBLE W’S….-22 – WON 2/1F

NOTES:

REVIEW: What could be better than a bottom rated favourite, that is also a Market Mover?

STARTFORD 8-30 –

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – N/A

* – MR MAFIA….+12
T* – SOURIYAN….+12
* – MERCERS COURT….+12 – WON 4/1
* – ZAMPARELLI (BF)….+11 – NR
* – KELTUS….-11 – NR
T* – GARDINERS HILL….-22

NOTES:

REVIEW: This cut up badly and was a no play race for me but I was still pleased to see one of those rated +12 winning it.

Three winners from the 15 overnight Market Movers won, another four ran home second.

Seven winners from the 27 Morning Market Movers 12/1, 7/1, 6/1, 2/1, 7/4, 13/8, 11/10….another 10 finishing in the first four home….I’ll say again, we have hit a seam and it’s now simply all about picking where to mine it.

That’s my job between now and October….loving it!
