Today’s Ratings and Market Movers 25/06/19

If we could just sit here and do that every day, this would be a doddle.

Three plays, two winners and a runner up….which should have won by a minute….just over £30 profit achieved and that was that.

If you produced that amount of profit each day, you’d have close to £11k in the bank.

Getting closer to that £3k barrier.

After pulling some weeds yesterday I sat down to start work on today’s racing. The weather forecast has again been anything but good and if you live in the Edinburgh area then yesterday you copped for it big time.

First thing I did was pull up the BHA website to obtain the latest weather information from each track yesterday morning:

BEVERLEY

Partly Cloudy. 5.5mm rainfall overnight Monday – showers expected in the afternoon and overnight which could bring significant levels but are hit and miss, 21C Tuesday – threat of heavy rain throughout the day, 18C

BRIGHTON

Yesterday dry, Forecast rain this evening possibly heavy at times. Dry raceday 21c increasing up to 25-26c

NEWBURY

Forecast: A few light showers late morning/early afternoon on Monday, max temp around 22/23C and humid. Thunder showers overnight into Tuesday morning, clearing by 6/7am then dry, max temp around 20/21C.

NEWTON ABBOT

5mm Weds. 1mm Thurs. Dry Fri/Sat. 1mm overnight. Dry and cloudy Mon/Tues, 19-20C with outside chance of showers tomorrow morning.

I’ve checked the weather apps this morning and all near Brighton are expected to get rain this morning….it is raining now at Newton Abbot.

The only going guide (see below), I’d take as Gospel right now, would be Brighton but, of course, I do not produce Ratings for that track.

Quandary. Do I produce ratings, or not?

What I’ve decided to do is produce figures for the two evening meetings but, I’ll be watching things like the proverbial hawk and if the rain has altered the going at all, then we pull out.

I’ll make sure I can issue a “bin” message in time.

Beverley I’m leaving alone for Ratings purposes so below you have four rated races, the one at Newbury containing a 3-y-o that sits in my top two so, we’ll run with it.

We are due some lovely weather in the next week or so and we should have everything as we want it so right now, we’ll take our crumbs and wait for the feast….at least we ain’t starving!

Those of you that use facebook or/and Twitter will have noticed an increase in activity on my part over the last 48 hours.

It’s time to start spreading the word in readiness for October, when I’ll be here, there and everywhere.

I want at least another 300 shares sold in The Clover Club by the end of that month and the whole club filled by the end of this year. We will then have 10 months to make sure every single “i” has been dotted, and every “t” crossed.

That’s when I then set about making the four years from October 2020, the best four years we’ll have ever had.

I, for one, cannot wait to get cracking!

Have a great day!

Kindest regards

Ron
