Catching my eye

Better yesterday, a nice 20/80 landed, and a pretty easy winner, from the two posted up.

It’s again the all weather meeting at Newcastle having a brace Catching the eye, all turf meetings competitive enough for a change this week but, not exactly compelling me to break the bank betting anything.

Rob Havlin has popped up to Newcastle for four rides, two for his governor John Gosden, and they are the pair I’d be looking to play today.

PIANISSIMO (6-45)
CAPE PALACE (7-45)

The first named runs first time since being gelded and also runs in first time headgear. Let’s just say they are having a go!

The latter is a juvenile debutante that cost £300,000 and is entered for both the Dewhurst and The Derby.

Gosden has a brilliant record here with 2-y-o’s….14-30 (47% strike rate).

It’s the debutante that’s most likely to be winning.
