Catching my eye 07/09/19

A profit made from that one yesterday so all good.

I have a couple today, the first being at Haydock, despite the weather etc getting involved again this week and giving us winter ground!

The first is:

CORRELI in the Old Borough Cup.

The first positive regarding this horse is that he’s a four year old. They have won four of the last five runnings and, six of the last 10.

Seven of the last 10 winners had won or placed coming into this and, seven of the last 10 had also traded in the front five on the tissue.

John Gosden on sends one for this if he’s confident he’s going to win it. In the last 10 years he has saddled five runners, had two winners and three place.

At the 7/1 currently available, he’s a solid 20/80

The other horse catching my eye is FAYLAQ (Ascot 3-55)

Dane O’Neill doesn’t have a great record here (six winner from 68 rides in the last five seasons), but, when he gets on the back of one here trained by William Haggas, he strides up to a mighty 33% strike rate (2-6).

The trainers record in this race is very decent…..seven runners saddled in it over the last 10 years, one winner, three placing.

Four of the last 10 winners have carried 9st or more and, four of the last six winners could have been located in the front five on the tissue….FAYLAQ currently trading second favourite.

He too looks a rock solid 20/80
