HAMMER GUN came very close to landing the bets for those that do not mind getting involved in betting on novelty races….unlucky, too.
One of the most overhyped hurdlers in recent times makes his debut in Ireland for Enda Bolger….YANWORTH.
He drops into handicap company for the very first time in the Listowel 4-50pm. Bolger also trains the favourite in that race, BALLYOISIN….already a well backed favourite (2/1 > 13/8), I’d expect that Mcmanus representative to be winning that race.
One horse at Epsom is also attracting lumps of cash….GUILDHALL (2-50). Only six going to post but punters are all over this one like a bad rash!
Jason Watson, who rides that one, also rides INDIAN VICEROY for Hughie Morrison….and he’s 2-2 for Hughie at this track. Interesting for that fact alone but this course and distance winner (important here), also trades favourite so Jason could enjoy a decent day.
At chepstow it’s WHEREWITHAL catching my eye most. An unarmed 3-y-o running for Ralph Beckett, he has booked Rob Hornby to ride and that’s general a sign a horse is “off” as he’s only booked Rob on three previous occasions, which produced two winners.
The horse is being backed, too….5/1 > 7/2.
Very, very interesting.
