We have seen no fewer than 23 non-runners across the two meetings taking place on turf today at Redcar and Goodwood.
Trying to second guess how the ground will be riding is the problem but we are seeing plenty of market movement, most noticeably KHALIFA SAT.
That horse runs in the Goodwood 2-00pm and the money has been constant since the markets opened last night.
The kind of horse/horses I’m looking for do not exist today – on turf – but one most definitely does on the all weather at Newcastle.
CRITICAL TIME (8-15PM)
Runs for a trainer with a 41% strike rate with 3-y-o’s at this track. He has sent just this one on a round trip of 488 miles, to run in the last race on the card.
Danny Tudhope stays to ride it and when he rides for Haggas, the trainers strike rate with all runners is 50%.
The trainer jockey combination also team up at Redcar where they saddle BRYN DU in the 12-45pm event….a simple 14 runner maiden to solve!
This horse makes handicap debut here (one of eight in the race doing so), and it is another in that race attracting money…..BREGUET BOY 8/1 > 9/2 favourite.
CRITICAL TIME is not yet showing signs of attracting money but it’s very early doors yet so I’d suggest you check that market from early evening.
I feel the two at the head of the market in the Redcar 2-50pm look very strong and would expect the winner to come from either BRASSICA or TAKUMI.
Two huge fields of Class 6 wildebeest conclude the Redcar meeting and if you have any idea what is going to win either leg of that divided race, let me know!
KENNY THE CAPTAIN is 13/8 having opened 5/2 for the second division but if you want to go backing a horse that short, that has not won on turf for over two years, and that ran only two days ago, then hey, you go for it!
