Burnley v Everton

I cannot believe we didn’t get a profit last weekend. That’s how it goes sometimes though isn’t it.

I’m off to the Liverpool game today and a couple of pints with lunch before that with a few of the lads. Not often we get a Saturday afternoon kick off these days so we’ll make the most of it.

BURNLEY V EVERTON

I thought Everton played well against City and made it hard for them, even if they did eventually get beaten easily.

If they put that kind of effort in this weekend against an average Burnley team, I think they can get 3 points. They won this game 5-1 last season. They have not won 2 consecutive games at Turf Moor since 1970 though so not great.

Thing is, Everton have very poor away form and only 1 other team is as bad as them away right now and that’s Burnley. Both have only won 12 away games since 2016.

There have been 10 prem games between these 2 teams and not a single 1 has yet ended in a draw. Both would probably settle for that this week. Everton have won 6 and actually did the double over Burnley last season.

The home team has only won 2 of the last 12 games and they really are bang average. Evertons defence is like a sieve right now though and they’ve let goals in, in both halves of their last 5.

Only 1 player seems capable of scoring for them right now too. Calvert-Lewin has scored their last 4.

If Burnley get the first goal then I expect blue heads to drop. They have not won a league game in the last 19 under this manager when they have let the first goal in.

I just saw a spark in Everton last week though and they can win this if they play as well again.

MY BETS

EVERTON TO WIN @ 6/4
EVERTON TO WIN 2-1 @ 8/1
