The racing yesterday was complete pants and that was the only thing that “caught my eye!”.
The two meetings over jumps today look more for watching with an eye on what’s coming over the next five months and with Nottingham being run on soft, with a host of juveniles racing there and an apprentice handicap to round it all off, I’d not be botching with that meeting either.
As you know, I’m looking at what is going on with the all weather scene this month and so far, I’m happy with how this is going.
At Kempton one horse I’m interested in runs in the 4-35pm
The 36% strike rate Buick and Appleby have produced when teaming up here is rare and Buick rides this track better than anyone….27% strike rate.
This is the jockey’s only ride here and the market like the horse, too.
At Newcastle Gosden and Havlin have been cleaning up and have a staggering 44% strike rate when Gosden put Havlin up.
Havlin is there for four rides tonight but only one for his “guvnor”….GOOD TIDINGS (5-55pm).
The market already “knows” they’ll go home with first prize but a double those two named, might produce a little profit.
Another at Newcastle that is interesting is ELIGIBLE (7-55pm). Interesting mainly because Hector Crouch arrives for this one ride and he has a stunning 50% strike rate all rides at this track (3-6).
It’s not a day we’ll be getting rich off but we’ll see how we go.
Have a good day!
